Yesterday we had to make a very, very difficult decision.
Due to the restrictions imposed on all hospitality businesses we are finding it impossible to trade without losing thousands of pounds a week.
Therefore, in order to save our business, home and livelihood, and the jobs of all our wonderful staff, we will be closing from New Year’s Eve until further notice.
This means our last days service in 2020 will be New Year’s Eve lunchtime (12.00-4.00pm).
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, and rest assured as soon as restrictions are eased, we will bounce back stronger than ever.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your continued support during these unprecedented times and wish you all a very happy Christmas and a much, much better New Year.
We look forward to seeing everyone as soon as possible.
Stay safe and take care.
Pat, Deb and everyone at “The Hare”
**CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR OPENING TIMES AT THE BOTTOM OF YHIS PAGE**
What does it mean for us at The Hare?
It means we need your support now more than ever……
It means once again our capacity has been reduced as only single households can dine at a table – the mixed household RULE OF 6 no longer applies.
In turn it means we will have all our available tables with couples only plus maybe a few families too instead of the tables of up to 6 people which we had before this latest lockdown
It means our entire bar, restaurant, coach house and front room areas could be full with only 50 people. this is over 50% REDUCTION AGAIN, WHICH WAS ALREADY REDUCED WHEN WE IMPLEMENTED THE 2M SPACING. 50 people doesn’t even break even or go anywhere near with the same staff costs, overheads and rent.
Tier 2 means you can no longer come in for a seated drink.
Tier 2 means you can drink only if you order a ‘substantial meal’ (this is not a bowl of chips or a side salad) You can not come in and drink for a couple of hours before your ‘substantial meal’ as your drink cannot be ordered until your food order is placed.
Tier 2 means once your meal is finished you can not stay and enjoy another drink. Your drink is to be consumed with your meal only.
Tier 2 means you must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place.
So we will give this a go….we truly have no choice, peoples employment, our home and business, which we have worked a very hard all our working lives to build depends on it.
So please do:
1.Book your single household table.
2.Be aware there will be sittings of only 2 hours (this is to comply and hopefully ‘turn tables’ to help maximise covers to make ends meet!)
3.A bubble is allowed but please understand what a bubble means…. its a SINGLE household member joining your family and only your family.
4. Be assured our same strict COVID precautions will be in place to protect us all.
5. Tables will not be moved and multiple households can not book 2 or more tables requesting to be near each other.
It’s going to be difficult…..BUT WE HAVE TO MAKE THIS WORK!
Stay safe everyone, and we really do look forward to seeing you as from the 3rd of December.
Pat, Deb and all at The Hare.
Telephone lines will reopen for bookings from Tuesday the 1st December 01366 382229.
We are currently working on a revised menu which will be available to view on our re-opening menu page soon.
We look forward to seeing you again!…..
