In 2011 we served a Spanish Style 3 course Menu, with lots of choices. The Restaurant and Bar were decorated with Spanish flags and there is was a great atmosphere with10% DISCOUNT ON THE MENU PRICE FOR PARTIES OF 6 OR MORE!
We also had a wonderful young lady playing Spanish guitar!
This was our Menu for our very successful evenings held in October 2010:-
Tiger prawns with an orange and roasted red pepper salad, flavoured with cumin seeds and coriander, served warm
Mussels topped with breadcrumbs, flavoured with tomatoes, garlic, cayenne pepper and herbs
“Rognons Turbigo” Kidneys cooked in sherry with onions, tomato and bacon
Artichoke and ham “Tortilla” (spanish omelette) – served warm
Monkfish medallions, dusted with paprika and flavoured with garlic and white wine
Whole sea bass with garlic, lemon and parsley
Chicken “Sanfaina” – Chicken casseroled in a tomato sauce with peppers, aubergine and ham
Catalan Beef Stew – slowly cooked beef with vegetables, flavoured with sherry and brandy and finished with dark chocolate!
Loin of pork with a garlic, parsley, anchovy and caper sauce
Duck breast cooked pink and served on a caramelised slices of pear with a spiced almond and brandy sauce, flavoured with thyme
DESSERTS
Olive oil and Apple cake
Orange Flan
Almond Meringue with Vanilla Ice cream and Sherry soaked sultanas
Poached pears in red wine with cinnamon
CHEESES – we served Manchego, Valdeon, Queso de Cabra and a Catbrian Cows cheese, all with “membrillo” (Quince jelly), walnuts, sultanas and bread
